ECO Platform: document on biogenic carbon accounting in EPDs
On October 8, 2026, ECO Platform published the guidance document “ECO Platform statement on handling biogenic carbon storage in EPDs”, which is now also available on the EPDItaly website.
The document provides methodological clarifications regarding the treatment of biogenic carbon removals and storage within Environmental Product Declarations compliant with the EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 standard, with specific reference to applications involving the use of biochar.
