Whoever chose EPDItaly tells its story: Doc Air Concrete

Interview with Arch. Canio Rabasco, Technical Service Department – Doc Air Concrete Srl

What are the advantages of a EPD certification for a company?
We have decided to certify our products to provide our reference market with information on the environmental performance of the materials we make. One of the strengths of these products has always been the high standard of raw materials that goes hand in hand with sustainable choices that respect the environment. We wanted to focus on transparent communication that allows consumers and business partners to make informed purchasing choices.

What are the reasons that led you to EPDItaly?
Surely that of making the end user aware of sustainability issues is an important element for our modus operandi. The EPD certification also allows us to enhance the communication strategies and to obtain greater visibility towards all the stakeholders involved.

Do you think EPDItaly can contribute to spreading the culture of product sustainability?
Today we believe in it, we strongly wanted it. We feel like a piece in a big program operator like EPDItaly and in our own small way we feel we are the creators of the diffusion and awareness of important issues such as those of sustainability, which affect everyone globally. Of course the road is still long, we are still a minority and we would like other companies to certify their products, so as to create a space for comparison on the environmental impacts of the products.

How important, in your opinion, is the presence of sustainable products made in Italy within a Program Operator that makes the international network one of its strengths?
I believe that the made in Italy product is a quality product and joining a program operator like EPDItaly allows us to have an international comparison, continuing to define the quality of Made in Italy. In EPDItaly we also see an international showcase where to exhibit our products.
