Interview with Stefano Bristot, Environmental Manager of Industrie Cotto Possagno SPA.

What is your company’s mission and what are its main activities?

From the centuries-old experience of some families of Possagno who have transformed an initially artisan reality into one of the largest national groups dedicated to the production of roofing bricks, Industrie Cotto Possagno was born in 1998 with the mission of satisfying the most sophisticated needs for a “building of quality “that combines design and sustainability.

Which product of your company obtained the Environmental Product Declaration? What are the characteristics of this product?

These are “Portuguese” type terracotta brick tiles called Unicoppo, Tesi and experimental tile called AEROTILE, designed as part of the European LIFE HEROTILE project High Energy savings in building cooling by ROof TILEs shape optimization (LIFE14CCA / IT / 000939), to allow an exceptional breathability of the element, together with a greater solar reflectance of the surface.

What are the advantages obtained by the Environmental Product Declaration for your company? What do you think the impact on the end consumer is?

The drafting of this document (EPD) has allowed us to communicate the environmental performance of our tile to the market and professionals in the sector. The final consumer, sensitive to environmental issues, knows that there are EPD certified Industries Cotto Possagno products on the market that meet the requirements of green tenders.

Do you think Epditaly can contribute to spreading the culture of product sustainability?

For the authoritativeness and seriousness of the EPDItaly brand, which also offers international visibility to a product with published EPD, I think this tool is the best vehicle for spreading the culture of sustainability also from the point of view of the rigorous retraceability of data.

How important in your opinion is the presence of sustainable products made in Italy within a Program Operator that makes the international network one of its strengths?

If the design, innovation and flair of Made in Italy is universally recognized, an international reference stand that certifies the sustainability of our products is a guarantee of success on all markets of a Made in Italy product.
