What are the advantages of a EPD certification for a company?

The advantages are different, interconnected. In the first place, the possibility of demonstrating, through a third certification process to the company, the low environmental impact linked to the production of Leca expanded clay, a product already of its “natural” origin and produced thanks to the best available technologies – ” best available technologies “. Consequently, the advantage of being able to communicate these values and performances related to the low environmental impact of the production chain in a clear and scientific way. Finally, and certainly not less important, the advantage of obtaining through EPD an objective value determined by a univocal calculation, obtained which therefore allows its appreciation both in absolute and in comparison with other comparable types of product.

What are the reasons that led you to EPDItaly?

Laterlite has always been one of the objectives of environmental sustainability, a theme that the company has long faced in a global perspective. We therefore identified in the Environmental Product Declaration – EPD – the most recognized and authoritative process through which to obtain a further and important recognition of the sustainability of this product due precisely to the low environmental footprint of its production cycle.

Do you think EPDItaly can contribute to spreading the culture of product sustainability?

Certainly. We have chosen EPDItaly not only for the aforementioned reasons, but also for the significant promotion of issues related to product sustainability, which translates into considerable visibility of the EPD brand, and therefore of the declarations of individual companies, both nationally that international.

In your opinion, how important is the presence of sustainable products made in Italy within a Program Operator that makes the international network one of its strengths?

Ours is an Italian production of high environmental quality but also of performance, as well as Italian is EPDItaly. We see in it the values ​​of the made in Italy that we share as a company, and we consider it an effective vehicle precisely because of its visibility on an international level. A point certainly in our favor also for the promotion of our production on foreign markets.
